This is the first piece I've created in awhile, as I've been experiencing some unexpected emotions and physical sensations prior to turning 50 last week. I was dual-ly inspired by the election which I was watching live, and the phrase I kept hearing over and over was 'Hope Springs Eternal', referencing the new drastic change America is about to undergo, for the positive I believe and hope. I started this on my birthday and I wanted to express the openness I feel towards my next 50-some years. This has a blended pencil background I've been doing more lately, experimenting with merging colors and overlaps, and then features a marker centerpiece that kind of pops out at you.
